Despite the name, Swamp Milkweed thrives in regular garden soil as long as it doesn't dry out. It is the best-behaved milkweed for landscaped beds — it stays in a tidy clump and doesn't run.
Its bright pink flowers bloom slightly later than Common Milkweed, extending the monarch nectar season into August.
An excellent choice for rain gardens, low spots, and the edges of ponds and creeks throughout the Hudson Valley.
